The Necronomicon hovers in the air above the ruins of the tomb (Army of Darkness: Ashes 2 Ashes #4)

The Tomb of The Necronomicon was a temple located in Egypt that was the "birthplace" of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis in the reality known as Earth-818793.

The Tomb first appeared in Army of Darkness: Ashes 2 Ashes #3.

History[]

The Tomb's date of creation (and it's creators) remains a mystery, though more than likely it was built and used by The Dark Ones native to that reality during their time as the rulers of Earth.

Hidden in the caves above the "Canyon of The Cursed" and past "The Waking Graveyard", the Tomb's entrance resembles a skull (made from the stone of the cliff side which it is embedded). Inside, two diverging paths lead deeper into the cave. According to a brief assessment by Ash Williams, both paths were probably traps that led to "dismemberment".

One large chamber within the Tomb seemed to contain the remains of an unknown pharaoh and hundreds of soldiers.

At the bottom of the Tomb was a massive "puzzle room", with one large wall lined with large floating stone tablets with hieroglyphs inscribed on each one. Behind the floating tablets was a portal leading into outer space (or quite possibly the realm which The Dark Ones originate from). While the unplaced tablets could not be moved by a single human, they could be lifted using magic once the Necronomicon was placed within a special slot engraved on a separate pedestal. Once the book was inserted into the slot, the pedestal would raise all the way back to the surface into the sand-covered ruins of what appeared to be a large temple.

In the early 21st Century, Ash Williams would explore the tomb while on a mission to destroy the Necronomicon once and for all. While inside the tomb (and in the ruins above), Ash confronted Deadites, Mummies, and Evil Ash.
