The Dark Forest (also known as The Misty Forest) was a large woodland area in medieval England. In 1300 AD, the forest was visited by the time-traveler Ash Williams, who was pursued by the Kandarian Demon through the woods.
The Dark Forest first appeared in the 1993 film Army of Darkness.
Locations[]
As The Dark Forest covered a significant portion of the lower region of Lord Arthur's lands, it contained several notable landmarks within and around the area.
- The Windmill: At the edge of the forest was a large windmill. Ash Williams took refuge here during his chase with the Kandarian Demon.[1]
- The Graveyard: Located at the Dark Forest's southern boarder was the cursed graveyard in which the Necronomicon resided. This cemetery also served as the base camp for Evil Ash and his legion of Deadites.[1]
- The Grove: An oasis hidden in the heart of The Dark Forest by magic and guarded by a giant ogre, The Grove was the home of the witch Sulevia, who aided an alternate universe's Ash Williams upon his accidental return to 1300 AD.[2]
- Villages: At least two villages were known to boarder The Dark Forest in two different universes.[3][4]
Trivia[]
- This location was first identified as "The Misty Forest" in the 2005 Army of Darkness Roleplaying Game, but later became known as "The Dark Forest" in the 2013 comic Ash and the Army of Darkness #2.
