~ The Abomination to Mia. |
The Abomination (also known as Abomination Mia) was a demonic entity summoned to the world of the living by the Taker of Souls after feeding on five human souls. In 2013, The Abomination appeared in the woods outside of the Allen cabin, where it took on a form resembling Mia Allen.
The Abomination's first (and only) appearance was in the 2013 film Evil Dead. It was portrayed by Randal Wilson and voiced by Rupert Degas.
History[]
Early Encounters[]
Not much is known about The Abomination prior to it's appearance in 2013, though at some point in human history it had been summoned to the world of the living at least once before, and was deemed a significant-enough demon to have an illustration within Naturom Demonto.
Incident At The Cabin[]
In 2013, a group of five friends had unearthed Naturom Demonto inside the cellar of the Allen family cabin in the woods of Tennessee. Over the course of the night, the Taker of Souls had consumed the five required souls necessary to summon The Abomination to the world of the living, with the demon rising from the soil itself. The lone survivor of the group, a woman named Mia Allen, battled The Abomination during her attempt at escaping the cabin. Though Allen was victorious in the battle, slicing the demon in half with a chainsaw, her victory came at the price of her left hand, which had become trapped beneath a car during The Abomination's pursuit of her.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Burning Touch: The Abomination is able to burn human skin just by touching it.
- Super Strength: The Abomination is shown flipping over a truck with one arm.
- Shapeshifting: The Abomination is capable of transforming into The Taker Of Souls' first victim, as shown when it transforms into Mia.
Trivia[]
- The 2011 script of Evil Dead originally described The Abomination as a combination of the mutilated remains of David, Olivia, Eric, and Natalie merging together. In the final film, The Abomination just takes on the form of a demonic Mia Allen.
- The 2023 film Evil Dead Rise would later use an identical concept for it's final antagonist, The Marauder, which was a combination of the bodies of Ellie, Bridget, and Danny.
- The Abomination could also be an homage to Evil Ash, as both are doppelgangers of the main protagonist of their respective film (Evil Ash being the double of Ash Williams in Army of Darkness).
