Entrance of Fort Dearborn (Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick)

Fort Dearborn was a military fortress built on the outskirts of Dearborn, Michigan during the mid-19th Century. Used by the Union Army, the fort was a key location during Deadite siege of Dearborn in the year 1863.

Fort Dearborn's first appearance was in the 2003 video game Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick.

History[]

Deadite Invasion (1863)[]

In 1863, amid the height of the American Civil War, a man from the future named Dr. Alex Eldridge arrived in Dearborn, and brought with him an army of the undead. Using his army of Deadites created by the Kandarian Summoning Stone, Eldridge managed to take control of the fort as the city of Dearborn began to burn. It wasn't long until another time-traveler named Ash Williams arrived in 1863. Williams, who had been following Eldridge across time since the 21st Century, convinced the Union and Confederate squadrons stationed in Dearborn to form a temporary allegiance in order to take back the fort and stop Eldridge. Ash went after Eldridge as the united armies fought the Deadites in the fort's walls, eventually killing the wannabe conqueror in a showdown in one of the fort's courtyards.

In the years that followed, Dearborn continued to grow, and the fortress was at some point destroyed.

Rediscovery[]

Ruins of the fort were uncovered in the early 2000s during a mass excavation of Dearborn orchestrated by "The Deadite Queen". Unbeknownst to Ash Williams, Eldridge had hidden the Kandarian Summoning Stone somewhere in the fortress prior to his death in 1863. Eventually, the Summoning Stone was discovered in one of the many mines that had been dug through what was once Fort Dearborn.

Trivia[]

  • It's possible that the Fort Dearborn seen in A Fistful of Boomstick was inspired by the real Fort Dearborn, which was constructed in 1803 in Chicago, Illinois.
