Evil, if you ever show your ugly mug in this town ever again... I will fuck you up, I will take you down, and I will wipe you out! Yeah! I love you Elk Grove!
~ Ash Williams, speaking to the citizens of Elk Grove (Second Coming)

Elk Grove was a town located in central Michigan. Part of Kenward County and close to the neighboring city of Kenward, Elk Grove was the hometown of Ash Williams from his birth up until his self-imposed exile in the 1980s. Williams eventually returned over 30 years later to save the town from the forces of evil, and eventually became Elk Grove's celebrated hero.

Elk Grove first appeared in the Ash vs Evil Dead Season Two episode Home, becoming the primary setting of the series for the following two seasons.

Notable events in the city of Elk Grove are few and far between, with the first major event being the arrival of Ruby in 2016. For reasons unknown, The Dark One had selected Elk Grove to be her new base of operations in the months following her re-acquisition of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis from Ash Williams, unleashing various monstrosities and supernatural events in the surrounding area during this time.[1] Eventually, Ruby needed the help of Williams after her Demon Spawn had betrayed her and attempted to resurrect their father, a demon known as Baal.[1][2] Though somewhat reluctant at first, Ash decided to return to his hometown after more than 30 years of a self-imposed exile, begrudgingly wanting to save what few friends and family who were still there.

After Baal's defeat, Ash's public reputation in Elk Grove changed from a blood-thirsty psychopath to a hometown hero.[3] After the death of his father, Ash re-opened the Brock Williams Hardware store as "Ashy Slashy's Hardware And Sex Toy Emporium", located on the main road through the town.[4] Ash's entrepreneurial venture would be short-lived, as an ancient prophecy in which he ("The Promised One") was to battle evil's champion in a test of the mettle of man. Upon the arrival of Kandar The Destroyer and a Deadite apocalypse spreading across the world, a nuclear bomb strike on Elk Grove was called in by the United States Military. With little time to spare, Williams commandeered a tank and confronted the enormous demon with the Kandarian Dagger. Though Ash managed to destroy Kandar, he was severely injured when the dying monster collapsed directly on-top of the tank, and was quickly rescued by a member of the Knights of Sumeria.[5]

What happened to Elk Grove following Kandar The Destroyer's defeat is unknown, though it was presumably destroyed by the nuclear bomb.
