The Ankh Amulet is an ancient artifact that counters the dark magic of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis. In the early 21st Century, the amulet was used by Ash Williams and the Danger Girl team during a mission to get the Necronomicon out of the hands of a millitary-grade weapons dealer called "The Chancellor".

The Ankh Amulet first appeared in Danger Girl And The Army of Darkness #1.

History[]

Creation[]

It is unknown when or where the the Ankh Amulet was created, though the name and design implies it's ancient Egyptian in origin.

The Necronomicon explodes upon "swallowing" the Ankh Amulet (Danger Girl And The Army of Darkness #6)

Archeologist and Danger Girl agent Abby Chase somehow obtained the Ankh Amulet in the early 21st Century, where it was to be used as a bargaining piece for the life of Dr. Theodore Kage, who had been kidnapped by mercenaries. This attempted trade was unsuccessful, as Kage was killed by his abductors during his escape.

After acquiring a page of the Necronomicon, Chase (now aided by Ash Williams) attempted to revive Dr. Kage using the power of the Ex-Mortis, though she accidentally resurrected an entire cemetery as Deadites. Eventually finding the reanimated Kage, Abby put the Ankh Amulet around the undead professor's neck. The amulet's power managed to suppress any harmful or evil desires now embedded into Kage from the Deadite spirit possessing him, turning him "human" in everything but appearance. Kage continued to wear the amulet as he accompanied Williams and the Danger Girl team.

When "The Chancellor" mutated into a giant squid-like monster upon coming face-to-face with Ash and Danger Girl, Abby Chase retrived the amulet from the now "properly" deceased Dr. Kage and shoved the artifact into the mouth of the Necronomicon. The book exploded and released it's hold upon the legions of the undead around them. Presumably the Ankh Amulet was destroyed by this explosion as well.

Powers & Abilities[]

  • Deadite Suppression: While the amulet does not expel the Deadite spirit from the host, it does manage to quell the aggressive nature of the Deadite spirit and give the host the ability to regain control of their body once more as long as they are wearing the amulet. Though it happens in rare occurrences, the Deadite spirit can "override" the amulet's power if the host becomes angered or agitated.
