Adolf Hitler was an Austrian-born German politician who was the dictator of Nazi Germany from 1933 until his death in 1945. Obsessed with the occult and supernatural, Hitler was resurrected in 2016 by the dark magic of the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, where he then attempted to assemble a legion of Deadites in the depths of Hell.

This version of Adolf Hitler is exclusive to the continuity of the Evil Dead 2 comics published by Space Goat Productions. He first appeared in the Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Hitler one-shot.

Biography[]

Cheating Death[]

In the final days of World War II, with the Allied Forces creeping ever closer to the heart of Germany, an increasingly paranoid Adolf Hitler began searching for a method which would allow him to escape death and evade whatever fate would awaited him beyond the world of the living. In his quest, Hitler found passages within the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis which would grant him his desired immortality and had them tattooed upon his skin. Hitler would die not long after this (although the exact circumstances of his demise are unknown), though the ancient incantations etched on his body worked as intended and preserved his spirit, trapping it between the veil of life and the afterlife.[1]

Resurrection[]

For over seven decades, Hitler's spirit languished in this state of limbo until 2016 when a filmmaker was doing research on occult spells and incantations online, using passages which allowed Hitler to escape his personal purgatory and manifest back onto the mortal plane of existence. Hitler appeared outside of a movie theater in Berlin, where he was quickly infuriated to discover that the world had "descended into a mongrel state" during his absence. Retreating into the depths of Hell itself, Hitler used one of the passages tattooed on his body to persuade the Deadites to aid him in his quest to conquer both the worlds of the living and the dead. Unbeknownst to Hitler, a demon known as Hastur (which claimed to be the "Triune Duke of The Pit Infernal") saw Adolf's supernaturally enhanced power of persuasion over the weak-minded Deadites as a serious threat to their control over the underworld, and summoned the simulacrum duplicate of Ash Williams to fight Hitler on their behalf.

The faux Williams found Hitler giving a speech to a hoard of Deadites, interrupting the former dictator and chastising his infamous mustache. Hitler immediately commanded the Deadites to attack, but the Deadites did not, knowing Ash's reputation as a slayer of demons. Before Hitler could give any more commands, the Ash simulacrum shot Adolf directly in the chest with a shotgun blast, though he was quick to realize that the incantations from the indestructible Ex-Mortis tattooed on Hitler's body protected the former German chancellor from any harm. With his enhanced strength, Hitler tossed Ash around the underworld arena with ease until Williams discovered that, while most of Hitler's limbs and torso were protected, the areas in which there were no tattoos on Adolf's body were still vulnerable. After escaping Adolf's grip, Ash recovered his shotgun, blasting Hitler directly in the head.[1]

Second Resurrection[]

Not long after his initial resurrection, Hitler would be reborn yet again, this time by the Deadite Ed Getley, who was looking to assume control of Hell and exact his revenge upon Ash Williams. Now a member of Ed's "Archangels of Evil" (which also consisted of Dracula, Raka-Uruk, Osama Bin Laden, and Rasputin), Hitler and the team confronted Williams (who was actually the simulacrum copy) in Hell itself. Seemingly robbed of the powers he displayed from their previous encounter, Ash made quick work of Hitler, and decapitated the former dictator with his chainsaw arm, killing Adolf for good.[2]

In Other Media[]

Board Games[]

  • This version of Adolf Hitler was going to appear in Space Goat's Evil Dead 2: The Official Board Game as part of an expansion pack based on the Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Hitler comic. A miniature figurine and a card (identifying him as "Deadite Hitler") were set to be included in the expansion, although it never materialized due to the bankruptcy of Space Goat Productions and the cancellation of the game itself.
